Augmented Reality

AR applications and solutions are expected to grow exponentially over the next few years, helped by advances in devices, software frameworks and technical standards.

Much of the current focus is on Mobile Device AR solutions, but AR glasses and headset devices are evolving and becoming more economically viable for a wide range of applications.

WestShore Technology has developed Android based AR demonstration applications. These are available for download from Google PlayStore and they can be adapted to built on as required.

AR Line View

Line View is a simple Augmented Reality application that allows you place two ‘Andy’ Android characters in your phone’s view finder, and draw a line between them.

It is built on ARCore and Sceneform, extending the simple HelloSceneForm example app.

Each ‘Andy’ can be moved left, right, up, down, forwards and backwards independently and a line can be added between them whenever the Andy’s are moved to a new position.

Virtual Circle

Virtual Circle is a simple app to create an AR circle showing the distance around a point.

The circle is displayed using Augmented Reality models displayed on the screen.
